Losing weight
I have been cutting back and changed my diet around the end of last term, so about May time. Since then I have lost over a stone (about 17lbs). This week - today actually, after a chat with a friend, I have decided to turn it up a notch. Until now, weight loss has consisted of cutting back on cakes and sweets, and cutting out bread, eating more salads and fruit but not really cutting back on portion size. Today I have been using an app called Lose it, which sets me a max amount of calories I can consume in a day and counts the calories I eat, adds any exercise I do and just lets me know if I go over. So today is the first day I have felt deprived. I haven't really upped my exercise really. Doing Pilates gave me the incentive to lose weight as I looked so huge in all the mirrors in the Pilates studio. And losing some weight gave me the energy to want to do more, so I have done 5k a few times in the cardio suite, but not running the whole way and not regularly. I would like to lose another 10lbs, and that's why I have turned it up a notch as I seem to just plateau. The YMCA holiday gave a it a kick as I ate lots of salad - I didn't have to cook and it was easy to just head for the salad bar. So that's it. Yay me!
